FanFic Recommendation of the Week!

Okay, I've decided to add a fanfic reccommendation for people who are into reading fanfiction.  So, I'll start with this one.

Title: The Ten
Author: Closetotheedge
Genre: Horror, Suspense
Where You Will Find It: Fanfiction.net, Cartoons, Arthur (Yes, I'm talking about the ardvark. {SP?}).
Age: Teens.  NOT AN ARTHUR STORY FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLERS!  (For scary moments, gore, and one language comment.)
Summary: In this unusual Arthur story, nobody can trust anybody.  Everyone is getting killed, one by one in a horrible game where ten of them are to die.  And as the game starts to come to a close, Arthur and the gang are trying find the guilty party, especially since the killer is in Mr. Ratburn's class themself!
My Opinion: First of all, let me just say, I am NOT a fan of horror stories.  Especially when they're based off of kids cartoons I like.  BUT, it doesn't mean I didn't like this one.  I don't know.  Something about this fanfic changed my opinion of all horror stories put together. (And it's really weird because, I love Arthur!)  Like, for example, it doesn't go all prolonged on the gore, it more focused on the what's going on in the story, and the gore is mentioned in only one to four sentences in each chapter.  Plus, the fact that you don't know who the killer is until the very end; I loved trying to figure it out.  All in all, I have to say, Closetotheedge's story, is a really weird twist in an Arthur story, yet totally well written, and is 100% of pure awesomeness.  I highly recommend it!

Comment once you've read it, and tell me what you think!

  1. Remember the Arthur episode where Arthur had to spell aardvark? I always remembered it from that.

But I always sing it like he did. =)

  2. Ha! Ha! Oh yeah! The one where he's trying to win the spelling bee? I remember that one. I can't believe he had to learn how to spell what animal he is!

  3. I know, right? It was during the "practice" with Mr. Ratburn. It was the only word Arthur learned to spell, coincidentally. That's the word he got! LOL!
